Growing child: I'm so hungry! Can I have a pickle?
Me: We ran out of pickles hon, sorry.
Then can I have a banana?
You guys finished the bananas last Friday. Sorry again.
Then I'll have a piece of bread.
Uhhh... (giving toothy, sorry smile)... No bread?
(Child, not smiling back) Dang it! Why don't you buy FOOD anymore? I guess I'll have milk.
Hey, I've got this TASTY GLASS OF WATER OVER HERE...

This is definitely a moment for the "Starving children in X would love to have a glass of water" speech!
We are totally in the same boat! We've had mac and cheese and some sort of canned veggies two nights in a row. There's just so little time for shopping!
I've been at this place for two weeks in a row now. I'm not sure what is happening, but my weekly grocery shopping seems to have blown up. I still go to the store and buy tons of stuff, but by Thursday we are scrounging for food and have no milk. I keep buying more things and am still in the same place. I literally have no idea how I'm going to survive when my son becomes a teenager because I don't have time to shop every day.
This sounds like our house! We've got pasta sauce.....and that's about it. Love your blog!
I love that when he is hungry, the first thing he asks for is a pickle.
That is my house every week, I seem to be unable to on my way home to pick up milk. We don't have milk in my house more often than we do...lol.
